DesignGear 8 - The New Standard for Electrical System Design & Drafting Software

Designed for use with the industry's leading computer-aided drafting software AutoCAD, DesignGear 8 combines powerful engineering and graphics tools in a single package. Harrell, Saltrick & Hopper Technologies' products are designed for use with AutoCAD 2000, AutoCAD 2002, and Architectural Desktop.

Easy to Use Structure
DesignGear 8 is structured around several modules called managers - all which are accessed from the pulldown menu.

• Project Manager controls operation of all manager modules for each project. Project Manager also allows you to create and edit information for all of your DesignGear 8 projects.
• Drawing Manager controls creation and opening of all drawings for your DesignGear 8 projects.
• Symbol Manager controls creation and management of all project symbols.
• Lighting Manager controls management of your lamp and lighting fixture databases. Separate lighting fixture databases are automatically maintained for each project. Lighting Manager allows you to edit fixture information for each project without affecting the master database. A fully populated lighting fixture database, listing fixtures from several major manufacturers, is included.
• Schedule Manager controls schedule management and allows automatic updating of all drawing schedules.
• Power Manager controls creation and management of all power devices and schedules. Power Manager devices consist of:
  
  Three phase panelboards
  Single phase panelboards
  Switchboards
  Transformers
  Motor control centers
  Busways
  Generators
  Transfer Switches
  Wireways
  
  All Power Manager devices are dynamically linked, allowing fully automated connected and demand load calculations across the entire power distribution system. Delete or add a load anywhere in the system and all affected power devices are automatically updated with the new load.

  Power Manager automatically performs NEC 220 Feeder calculations for all devices.

  An automated fault current and feeder voltage drop estimator is included to make performing these calculations easier and faster than ever before.

  Power Manager also directly interfaces with our unique Autocircuit module, which connects drawing information directly to panelboard schedules.

• AutoCircuit allows designers to place circuit tags on the floor plan drawings. These circuit identification tags contain load information and allow fully automated circuit breaker, conductor, and conduit sizing for each branch circuit. With Autocircuit designers can completely avoid the tedious job of filling out panel schedules.
  

Import & Forget Schedule Feature
DesignGear 8's exclusive "Import and Forget" feature allows you to import a power, lighting fixture, or symbol schedule onto a drawing only once. Each time the drawing is opened, all schedules are automatically updated, including load information.
